Assessment
The assessment includes an interview, questionnaires and a NF/BF profiling. From start to finish the assessment takes 2 1/2 hours to complete, usually split up over 2 sessions as the athletes needs to be fully alert for the NF/BF profiling. During the interview the athlete will be asked a series of questions concerning their history in the sport, goals, strengths and weaknesses. Athletes will be asked to fill out questionnaires (no more than 15 minutes).
Following this the athletes will undergo a NF/BF profiling. This assessment is 20 minutes in length. This involves connecting one electrode to the scalp with paste and two to each earlobe. Sensors monitoring heart rate, breathing, skin conductance, temperature and muscle activity are also attached. Data is collected and discussed with the athletes.
The assessment identifies each athlete’s individual requirements for training.
The assessment is key for recognizing key roadblocks stopping athletes from reaching their maximum potential despite high motivation, skill, desire and good coaching.
